Our doctors and staff at SoCal Equine Hospital truly care about your horses. We work as a team, with each individual animal addressing and treating their unique problems so they can maintain a high quality of life. Located in Norco, CA, we are one of only a few facilities offering this elevated level of equine care in Southern California. In January 2017 we moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in which we can provide an even greater standard of care and services. We are proud to offer 24/7 availability to our patients throughout Southern California.

Paul Y. Wan DVM, Diplomate ACVS, Cert. VBM

Dr. Wan graduated from the University of Georgia in 1989 and later completed his surgical residency at the University of Tennessee. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is well versed in all major fields of surgery: soft tissue, orthopedics, laparoscopic, and laser. Along with his surgical interests, he has spent many years honing his skills as a lameness expert. Dr. Wan is well versed in diagnosing and treating all types of lameness problems. He has continually sought to learn from the best in the country as well as around the world. This has given him a highly respected reputation among his peers and clients. Dr. Wan is an active member of AVMA, ACVS, AAEP, CVMA, and ISLEP.

Dr. Christina Garloff DVM cVMA, CERP

Dr. Garloff is a graduate of the University of California, Davis. With her diverse knowledge in Performance and Rehabilitative Medicine she is a great addition to our staff. She has spent the past 18 years increasing both her skill and knowledge in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of horses that have chronic lameness or have sustained a traumatic or sports related injuries. She is a certified Large Animal Acupuncturist as well as Massage Therapist and has extensive knowledge in many other physical therapy techniques. Dr. Garloff is currently working towards her board certification for the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Tiffany Mavromatis DVM, CVA

Dr Tiffany Mavromatis is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was awarded the Dean Peter F. Haynes Equine Award and the Society for Theriogenology Proficiency in Theriogenology Award. While in veterinary school, Dr Mavromatis worked under Theriogenologists studying the effects of hormone supplementation during the first 90 days of equine pregnancy. In addition, she participated in various equine activities for community outreach, including open house and Castration Day. Dr Mavromatis was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where she attended Tulane University and obtained her undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. After Tulane, she worked at a parasitology laboratory for 12 years propagating and testing for Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Dr Mavromatis was born with an affinity for horses, the first and only in her family. Dr Mavromatis worked, trained, and boarded her horse at a hunter/jumper barn in New Orleans for 8 years before applying to veterinary school.  During veterinary school, Dr Mavromatis’s personal horse underwent several surgeries for dental issues. Because of her experience, Dr Mavromatis enjoys routine equine care: vaccines, dental floats, nutrition, and lameness. SoCal Equine Hospital allows her the ability to offer her patients extended care, beyond the farm if necessary. Dr Mavromatis lives with her husband, daughter, larger than life pit bull mix Smore, their cat Ella, and OTTB gelding, Stoli. She enjoys riding, exercising, running, traveling, and cooking.

Dr. Katie Weatherall VMD, MS, DACVS-LA

Dr. Katie Weatherall is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was awarded the Charles F. Reid Sports Medicine and Imaging Award. She went on to complete a surgical internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Center in Lexington, KY and a rotating internship at Kansas State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She then completed an Equine Surgery Residency at Auburn University’s Large Animal Teaching Hospital, where she also obtained her Masters in Biomedical Sciences. During her residency and master’s work, Dr. Weatherall did research into improving incision healing post colic surgery and successfully published those results. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Weatherall grew up riding in the equitation and jumper classes. Following her undergraduate degree, she spent time as a working student for a Grand Prix Jumper rider and world championship 4-in-hand combined driving team. She then redirected her passion back to her childhood dream of becoming an equine veterinarian. While in veterinary school, she found her true passion lies in equine surgery and sports medicine. She has worked to hone her surgical skills as well as focusing on treating lameness issues and joint injections. Dr. Weatherall lives with her Jack Russell Terrier, Trace (short for Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream), who loves to join her at work and greet the clients from the counter. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family in SoCal, experiencing CA wine tastings, and escaping to the beach.​
