Southern California Equine Hospital has been offering on-site surgical, medical and advanced diagnostic services since 2006, including emergency and elective soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic, laparoscopic and arthroscopic procedures. Dr. Wan and his dedicated team of veterinarians, residents, interns and technicians provide 24-hour emergency surgery and critical care coverage. We also offer the latest in state of the art diagnostics and therapies for any issue health care issue you may be facing.

Orthopedic

Orthopedics deals with the prevention or correction of injuries or disorders of the skeletal system and associated muscles, joints, and ligaments. Fracture repair in horses remains challenging, but over the last decade advances have been made to improve the success rate and prognosis for these patients.

Laparoscopy

Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS) Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive way to view the organs in the abdomen. It is a safe technique that minimizes soft tissue trauma to the patient allowing for faster and less painful recovery. Anesthesia time can also be reduced which is important in geriatric and debilitated patients.

Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy encompasses a variety of minimally invasive surgical applications in which the surgeon is able to visualize, diagnose and treat problems within various joints. Arthroscopy and tenoscopy are widely used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and is now a preferred treatment for several joint conditions.

Soft tissue Surgery

Whether your horse requires routine surgery or a more specialized procedure such as laparoscopy or laser surgery with either our diode or CO2 laser, our staff is equipped with the expertise and technology needed to ensure the best possible outcome. With the use of current and minimally invasive techniques, the surgical procedures have relatively shorter recoveries with less discomfort. Our soft tissue surgery capabilities include:
